Future Continuous Tense Examples

The future continuous tense is used to show a continued or an ongoing action in future. For example, “I will be preparing for exams tomorrow”, it conveys ongoing nature of an action (preparing) which will occur in future.

Rules for using future continuous tense 

Auxiliary verbwill be” is followed by 1st form of the verb in this sentence.

Structure of sentence

Positive sentence
   • Subject + will be+ 1st form of verb or base form+ing (present participle) + object 
Examples:
       I will be washing my cloths on Sunday.
       You will be studying in London next year.

Negative sentence
          • Subject + will not (short contraction won't) + be + 1st form of the verb + object 
Examples:
       I will not/won't be washing my cloths on Sunday.
       You won't be studying in London next year.

 

Interrogative sentence
       • Will + subject + be+ 1st form of the verb +ing + object 
Examples:
       will I be washing my cloths on Sunday?
       will You be studying in London next year?

Negative Interrogative Sentence

  • Won't + subject + be+ 1st form of the verb +ing + object 

Examples:

       Won't I be washing my cloths on Sunday?
       won't You be studying in London next year?
