Creamed Corn Recipe


  • Freah Corn ------------------------ 4 pieces of corn cob
  • Yellow Cornmeal ---------------- 2 tabblespoons
  • Heavy Cream --------------------- 1 cup
  • Milk ---------------------------------- 1 cup as required
  • Sugar -------------------------------- 2 tabelspoon or as per taste
  • Salt ----------------------------------- a pinch
  • Turmeric Powder ---------------- a pinch
  • Butter or Ghee ------------------- 1 tablespoon
  • Rosemary or cadomom ------- few


1. Take the corn cob and remove the kernels by the help of a sharp knife.

2. Leave all the remaining small pieces out of the cob.

3. Take a deep saucepan and melt the butter in it.

4. Put the corn kernels in to the butter and sauté for a minute or more.

5. Include the rosemary, sugar, turmeric powder, cornmeal to this and sauté for two minutes.

6. Put in the milk to the corn and let it cook until the corn become soft.

7. Put in the heavy cream and cook constantly. Add more milk or sugar if required.

8. Turn off the heat, as you get a nice creamy payasam (kheer) like consistency.

9. In addition, you have a choice to use fry cashews and raisins into the ghee and toping it on the payasam of the creamy corn.
