
Whenever the name of “Singaporean Rice” is heard, it looks as if this dish belongs to Singapore but the reality is beyond it.
If you search this dish on Google, you will find Singaporean rice recipe in Urdu the most in Pakistan.
But where does this dish belong and why is it so famous? You cannot find any information regarding the questions.
Indeed, you cannot get any sort of dish with the name of “Singaporean rice” belonging to any country in the world and funnily enough that including Singapore.
However, a dish with a name of “Hainanesee Chicken Rice” was cooked in South China which was later regarded as a national dish of Singapore.
This is also cooked with chicken and rice, however as the time went by this dish began to be cooked in a different way which was named as Singaporean rice.
Now this dish is cooked and eaten in Pakistan with immense eagerness while many of the people here include it in their menu for the ceremonies like wedding, engagement etc and this dish one of the most popular dishes in Pakistani cooking recipes.
Now we are providing you the recipe of this mouthwatering dish.
Ingredients for Chicken Gravy
Chicken boneless - ½ kg (cut into small pieces)
Soya sauce – 1 tablespoon
Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
Cooking oil – 2 tablespoons
Salt - ½ teaspoon
Red chilli powder - ½ teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
Chilli sauce – 1 teaspoon
Catchup - ½ cup
Water – 3 tablespoons
Ingredients for Fried Vegetable and Noodles
Boiled noodles – 200 grams
Oil – 1 tablespoon
Ginger - 1 tablespoon (cut into thin and long pieces)
Capsicum - ½ cup (cut into thin and long pieces)
White part of leek - ¼ cup
Green part of leek - ¼ cup
Cabbage – 1 cup (cut into thin and long pieces)
Carrot - ½ cup (cut into long pieces)
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Red chilli powder - ½ teaspoon
Sesame oil - ½ teaspoon
Soya sauce – 2 tablespoons
Ingredients for Mayo Sauce
Mayonnaise - ½ cup
Catchup - 1/3 cup
Chilli sauce – 1 teaspoon
Salt – 1 pinch
Black pepper – 1 pinch
Rice
Rice - ½ kg
Salt – 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil – 1 teaspoon
Method for Chicken Gravy
Heat oil in pan and add chicken, ginger garlic paste, fry them till the colour of them gets changed.
Now add soya sauce, vinegar, salt, red chilli powder and black pepper and mix them well.
Now add catchup and a little water and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes.
Chicken gravy is ready and keep it in a bowl.
Method for Fried Vegetable and Noodles
Add some oil and all vegetables (apart from green part of leek), soya sauce, salt, black pepper, red chilli powder in a same pan and fry them for about 2 minutes.
Now add boiled noodles and mix then add oil, green part of leek and mix them again.
When it is ready, Keep it aside.
Method for Mayo sauce
Take a bowl, add mayonnaise, catchup, chilli sauce, salt and black pepper and mix them well. Now keep them aside.
Now boil rice with salt and keep it also aside and cut garlic and green chilli them fry.
How to garnish?
Put a layer of rice in a dish, fried vegetables and noodles in second layer and put chicken in upper layer.
In the end, put mayo sauce and fried green chilli and garlic.
Now Singaporean Rice is ready to be served.
