Prawn Curry Recipe


  • 1⁄4 lbs---------------------------- medium raw shrimp, peeled
  • 2 cloves------------------------- garlic peeled and chopped
  • 2 teaspoons ------------------- ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon --------------------- ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon --------------------- garam masala
  • 2 1⁄2tablespoons ------------- canola oil
  • Salt and pepper --------------- to taste
  • 2 cups basmati rice --------- uncooked
  • 1 onion ---------------------------- peeled and thinly sliced
  • 4 large ----------------------------- tomatoes chopped
  • 1⁄2 cup ----------------------------  yogurt
  • 1⁄2 cup ----------------------------  cilantro leaf, chopped



  1. Take prawns in a bowl with garlic, ginger, spices, 2 teaspoons oil and a few salt and pepper. Stir nicely to coat, then cowl and marinate in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, cook dinner the rice in line with packet instructions. Cover and reduce flame.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or frypan over medium-high flame.
  4. Add prawns and stir to fry for 2-3 minutes until gently golden.
  5. Put off with a slotted spoon and set apart.
  6. Put the oil to the pan, reduce the heat to medium, then put onion and cook it with stirring, for 5-6 minutes until softened.
  7. Stir inside the tomato, then covered and simmer over medium warmth for five minutes till tomato is softened.
  8. Return prawns to pan with yoghurt and coriander, then cook it as stirring, for 2 minutes.
  9. Now its ready to eat. Season to flavor, then serve with rice.
